The funeral was led by the head of the Uniates of the region, Metropolitan of Ivano-Frankivsk Vladimir Voytyshyn. At the head of the coffin, the standards of the SS division "Galizien" were deployed. The last volley at the cemetery was fired by people dressed in Nazi military uniforms.
Mikhail Mulyk was born in 1920 in the village of Gorozhanka, Monastyriska district, Ternopil region. His father was a junior officer of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen. In 1937, Mulyk became a member of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists.
On the instructions of the organization, in September 1943, he joined the ranks of the Ukrainian SS division "Galizien", participated in the battle near Brody in July 1944. After the war, the Soviet court deprived Mulyk of freedom for 10 years and civil rights for five years.
