Looters plunder Dukonsky Monastery closed by authorities in Carpathians
Marauders are dismantling the Dukonsky Trinity Monastery, which was closed by the authorities of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, for firewood. This was reported by the press service of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese in its Telegram channel.
“Until recently, ‘Christ is Risen’ sounded high in the Carpathians – and the mountains echoed “Risen, Risen, Risen ...’ But on March 9, 2022, the glorious 23-year history of the Holy Trinity Dukonsky Monastery ended. The monks were evicted in the middle of winter by the authorities of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The unceasing prayer of Orthodox monks is redundant in Galicia,” the message says.
Recall that the Dukonsky Monastery was closed by local authorities in March 2022, while the brethren were expelled from the monastery and banned from residence in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
