“Miriane” tells the story of Orthodox doctor from Luhansk region
The public union "Miriane" on its Telegram channel announced the launch of a new series of publications – "The Laity in Time of War", which will tell stories of courage, faith and love.
The first story is about Orthodox doctor Andriy Golia from the Luhansk region, who heads the Public Union "Miriane" in the Severodonetsk Eparchy and dreams of becoming a priest.
"The war caught me at work. Near my native Severodonetsk. Every day the number of the wounded in Kremennaya, mostly civilians, was growing. Sometimes it seemed that the whole hospital, corridors and walls were completely covered in blood. Yes, it was hard, but who has it easy now? In the most difficult moments, I remembered St. Luke of Crimea, and examples from his life, it inspired me. I asked his holy prayers for the success of one more patient, to save, with God's help, another life," said the Orthodox doctor.
Andrei Golia stayed in the operating theatre until last but later agreed to be evacuated along with others by volunteers of the “Pomogaem” (“Help”) Foundation.
"Today I am finishing my studies in Rivne, where my institute has moved. All the long years of my studies at the medical institute I have been dreaming of becoming a doctor, but after these events, I want more and more into the altar – to pray for peace, for all those who give their lives for it," Andrei Golia added.
