UOC spokesman meets with the newly created Ukrainian community in Leipzig

With the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, on June 26, 2022, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, met with the newly created community of the UOC in Leipzig (Germany). This was reported by the press service of the DECR UOC.

“The community was created by our compatriots, who were forced to leave Ukraine as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war, two months ago. Divine services in the newly formed community began on Holy Easter Day in 2022," the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC said.

On the feast of the Synaxis of All Saints of Kievan Rus, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich officiated the Divine Liturgy with the newly created community of the UOC in Germany.

The cleric of the UOC, priest Maxim Boychura, takes spiritual care of the new Ukrainian Orthodox community and holds regular services at the address: Ruckmardofter Straße 13, Leipzig.

Recall that the Local Council of the UOC of May 27, 2022, stated in its Resolution the need to “develop a mission abroad among Orthodox Ukrainians in order to preserve their faith, culture, language and Orthodox identity.”

As the UOJ reported, in his interview, the spokesman of the UOC told about the mission of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church abroad.
