Sea of people: His Beatitude leads celebrations of Pochaiv icon (VIDEO)

On August 4 and 5, 2022, His Beatitude Onuphry led the celebrations of the 425th anniversary of the transfer of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God. The service is broadcast by the Information Department of the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra.

On the eve of the feast, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry led the service of a little vesper with an akathist before the miraculous icon and the all-night vigil in the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Lavra. The Primate was concelebrated by the bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the abbot of the monastery Metropolitan Volodymyr of Pochaiv, the monastic brothers of the Lavra, and numerous clergy from various eparchies. During the service, special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for God's protection from the horrors of war and the consolation of all the victims.
On the day of the feast, His Beatitude celebrated the Divine Liturgy. Thousands of UOC believers joined the prayer.
