Lawyer files complaint against OCU cleric for provocation at Kyiv Lavra

Lawyer Viktoria Kokhanovska filed a statement to the police to initiate a criminal investigation demanding an examination of the video from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, published by the OCU cleric Mykhailo Omelyan, the lawyer reports on her Facebook page.

"Today I’ve filed a statement to law enforcement authorities, and tomorrow in the Pechersky Court of Kyiv I call you, Mr. Omelyan, to answer for your words," said Kokhanovska.

"After checking the facts in accordance with Article 214, the information has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations in Ukraine (ERDR), an official investigation will be carried out, and the SBU is also investigating. If this video, I am sure, turns out to be untrue, this teacher of the theological academy, who incites inter-faith hatred, and we know that he belongs to the Poroshenko party, will be held responsible. They must take responsibility for the words which they spread about us, the parishioners of the UOC," she added.

"If this turns out to be a fake, for creating deliberate destabilization in Ukraine – the OCГ members will face prison. We hate to divide Ukrainian citizens into the 'white and black', we have a Ukrainian constitution and Ukrainian laws which are the same for everyone," Viktoriya Kokhanovska said.

As earlier reported, the UOC archdeacon proved that the video of the songs at the Kyiv Lavra was a fake.
