St. Tikhon's Monastery Invites Singers to Join Memorial Day Pilgrimage Festival Choir
Participants will rehearse throughout the weekend and sing at the Hierarchical Liturgy during the 122nd Annual Memorial Day Pilgrimage.
WAYMART, PA — St. Tikhon's Monastery has invited singers to participate in the Festival Choir for its 122nd Annual Memorial Day Pilgrimage, scheduled for May 22–25, 2026.
The annual pilgrimage brings together Orthodox faithful from across the country for a weekend of divine services, fellowship meals, museum tours, and opportunities to explore the monastery grounds and gardens.
Those joining the Festival Choir will rehearse over the course of the weekend before singing at the Memorial Day Hierarchical Liturgy on Monday morning. The service will feature two choirs performing antiphonal singing.
Rehearsals will be conducted by St. Tikhon’s Music Director Fr. Caleb Lewis and Mixed Choir Director Anastasia Kappanadze.
The Festival Choir rehearsal schedule includes sessions on Saturday, May 23 (1–3 p.m.), Sunday, May 24 (1–4 p.m.), and a warm-up on Monday, May 25 (8:30–9:45 a.m.) before the Memorial Day Hierarchical Liturgy, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participation in the choir is available for a $35 registration fee.
