Abp. Apostolos Visits Archdiocese of Athens After Election

ATHENS, GREECE — Abp. Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece welcomed newly elected Abp. Apostolos of Canada during a ceremonial visit to the Archdiocese of Athens, where the two hierarchs discussed the pastoral needs of the Church and the challenges facing Orthodox Christians in the modern world.

Abp. Apostolos was received at the entrance of the Archdiocese by Bp. Barnabas of Christoupolis, the Protosyngellos of the Archdiocese of Athens. Following the formal welcome, Abp. Ieronymos met with the newly elected Archbishop of Canada in a warm and cordial setting, offering his congratulations on his election and prayers for his future ministry.

His Beatitude wished Abp. Apostolos health, strength, and divine blessing as he prepares to serve the faithful entrusted to him. Abp. Apostolos expressed his gratitude for the welcome and assured Abp. Ieronymos that he would dedicate himself to the spiritual growth and pastoral care of the flock of the Church in Canada.

The hierarchs also addressed matters of shared ecclesiastical concern, with particular attention given to Orthodox ministry in the diaspora and the responsibilities of the Church amid contemporary challenges.
