Faithtree Resources to Publish Parenting Guide for Orthodox Christian Families
The book by Cindy and Paul Karos will focus on helping parents keep faith at the center of family.
LOS ANGELES — Faithtree Resources will publish a new parenting guide in January aimed at helping Orthodox Christian families navigate school, friendship, and technology while keeping the Orthodox faith central to family life.
Using the image of a climb, the Karoses present Christ and the Church as the destination towards which families should direct their efforts. The book explores Orthodox Christian practices, such as the Divine Liturgy, the sacraments, fasting, prayer, and Scripture to help form children whose identity is rooted in Christ.
The authors developed their approach through their experience in raising their three children, learning from other Orthodox families whose children remained active participants in the Church, the Church Fathers, and the lives of the saints.
Through the book, the authors seek to help parents look beyond academic, extracurricular, and professional accomplishments of children, seeking to ground their purpose in something deeper than achievements.
"Raising Orthodox Christians: Focusing on What Matters Most When Everything’s Competing for Your Children" is available for preorder ahead of its scheduled release in Jan. 26, 2027.
Cindy Karos has served as vice chair of the Midwest Diocesan Council and founded several family ministries, including a pan-Orthodox family camp that operated for 20 years. Paul Karos holds a master's degree in applied Orthodox Theology, leads retreats, and serves as a marriage counselor.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Faithtree Resources offered a free hospitality course for clergy.
