Fr. Peter Heers, Constantine Zalalas to Discuss Love and Humility

NASHVILLE, TN — A two-day Orthodox retreat featuring Protopresbyter Peter Heers and Constantine Zalalas will be held at St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church in Nashville on October 29–30. The gathering will focus on the theme “Love and Humility: What the World Says, What the Saints Say.”

The retreat will feature several talks and question-and-answer sessions with Fr. Peter and Zalalas, giving participants an opportunity to consider Christian love and humility through the teachings and examples of the saints. The event is being organized by the St. Xenia Orthodox Young Adult Fellowship.

Fr. Peter is a priest of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas and is known for his work with Uncut Mountain Press and Orthodox Ethos. He serves as rector of Sts. Paisius of Mount Athos and Cleopa of Sihăstria Orthodox Church in Florence, Arizona.

Zalalas is an Orthodox speaker and retreat leader who has spoken to Orthodox Christians in the United States and abroad. He holds a master’s degree in Dogmatic Theology from the University of Thessaloniki and is the founder of St. Nikodemos Publications.

Organizers have presented the retreat as an opportunity for prayer, spiritual reflection, teaching, and fellowship centered on two foundational Christian virtues. The Nashville gathering will bring together participants for two days of talks and discussion on how love and humility are understood in contemporary culture and in the life and teaching of the saints.
