Patr. Theophilos III blesses expanded infant care facilities at the Four Homes of Mercy in Bethany during a pastoral visit.
BETHANY, WEST BANK — His Beatitude Patr. Theophilos III of Jerusalem visited the “Four Homes of Mercy – Siksek” Foundation in Bethany on 17/30 June 2026, offering his blessing to its humanitarian work and touring newly completed care facilities for infants with incurable diseases.
The Patriarch was accompanied by senior hierarchs of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, including Metr. Hesychios of Capitolias, Abp. Aristarchos of Constantina, and other clerics and administrative representatives. During the visit, he specifically blessed the Foundation’s newly completed department dedicated to infants requiring long-term medical and palliative care.
Established on land donated in 1946 by Greek Orthodox benefactress Siksek, the foundation has provided continuous humanitarian assistance for decades, serving patients of all ages who suffer from incurable conditions. Its mission has particularly focused on children whose families and hospitals are unable to provide sustained treatment or rehabilitation.
Foundation directors Nadia Karaa and Diana Minsahouar guided the Patriarch through the facility, joined by local officials including the Mayor of Bethany and representatives of the Palestinian Authority. Staff members and patients expressed gratitude for the Patriarchate’s ongoing moral and material support, which is provided both directly and through donors.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Trump backed Patr. Theophilos as a mediator between Ukraine and Russia.
