Serbian Diocese to Hold Diocesan Days 2027 in Phoenix
The Western Serbian Diocese will bring Orthodox clergy and faithful together in Phoenix for three days of worship, fellowship, and teaching in February 2027.
PHOENIX — The Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church will hold Diocesan Days 2027 from Feb. 19-21 at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Phoenix, bringing clergy and faithful together for worship, fellowship, diocesan meetings, and educational presentations.
The three-day gathering will feature keynote lectures by Metr. Nicholas of Mesogaia and Lavreotiki and Archimandrite Elissaios, abbot of the Holy Monastery of Simonopetra on Mt. Athos. Metr. Nicholas, who has led his metropolis since 2004, studied physics before pursuing advanced degrees in astrophysics, engineering, and biomedical engineering in the United States.
Archimandrite Elissaios became abbot of Simonopetra in 2000 after entering monastic life under the guidance of Elder Aimilianos of Meteora. The monastery, one of the major Orthodox monasteries on Mt. Athos, was repopulated by the monastic community in 1983.
The event will also include Divine Liturgy services, fellowship with clergy and faithful, the annual Diocesan Assembly and committee meetings, and a diocesan banquet and program. Organizers are inviting individuals and businesses to support the gathering through commemorative book advertisements and sponsorships.
Sponsorship levels range from $500 to $2,000, while advertisements and greetings range from $75 to $150. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 31, 2026.
