Kyiv Patriarchate Thanks the Official for Little Sophia
On May 13, 2016 the Council of Bishops of the Kyiv Patriarchate was held, where members of the Supreme Church Council of the UOC-KP were elected. Among them is the former Culture Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko, reports Cerkva.info.
Kirilenko was re-elected a member of the Supreme Church Council of the UOC KP at the proposal of the leader of the Kyiv Patriarchate Filaret.
The Council of Bishops of the UOC-KP also thanked all those "who personally contributed to the approval of the decision to grant the Little (Heated) Sophia to the Kyiv Patriarchate for worship."
We recall that in February the Refectory Church of the National Preserve "Sophia of Kyiv", a unique architectural monument inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, was open for worship of the UOC-KP. The main role in the transfer of the Little Sophia was played by Viacheslav Kyrylenko, a former head of the Ministry of Culture.
