Festival for people with hearing impairments held in UOJ diocese of Voznesensk

A festival for people with hearing impairments "Pervomaisk Gatherings" was held in the diocese of Voznesensk of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on May 20-21. The fest was attended by members of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary. This is reported on the KTA & S site.

"Pervomaisk Gatherings" fest attended by participants from all over Ukraine and abroad was organized with the support of the Voznesensk diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The event took place on the territory of the National Natural Park "Buzhski Grad".

The fest program was opened by a prayer at the beginning of every good work made by the Bishop of Voznesensk and Pervomaisk Alexis. The head of the Kyiv Metropolis administration, Archimandrite Victor (Kotsaba), congratulated the participants of the festival on behalf of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onufriy.

The staff of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary greeted all the present on behalf of the Rector of the KTA & S, Metropolitan of Boryspil and Brovary Anthony and said that much attention is paid to the study of sign language by the Academy and Seminary students, who participate in joint projects with people with hearing disabilities. Festival participants were also congratulated by the representatives of one of the fest organizers – the Kiev Sunday school for people with hearing impairments "Hear with the heart."

During the festival, which had a discussion format, presentations were made by teachers of the KTA & S. The event was closed with a gala concert.
