Crucifixion of Jesus Christ desecrated in Uman on New Year’s Eve
An investigation team was set up to handle the case. The plaster figure of crucified Jesus was knocked down and the wooden cross was attempted to burn. It is not reported where the figure is now and what state it is in.
The case is registered; criminal proceedings on the grounds of Article 161 (violation of equal rights of citizens depending on their race, nationality, religion, disability and other grounds) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are initiated.
The current legislation provides for liability up eight years’ imprisonment for such offences. Investigations are underway.
Earlier it was reported that some the unknown masked men had broken into the synagogue at Nachman's grave in Uman and threw a pig's head with a swastika.
