Survey: Religious holidays are most popular in Ukraine
New Year’s was also named among the most popular holidays by 76% of respondents, with 49% citing International Women’s Day, 37% Victory Day, 29% Pentecost, and 17% Ukrainian Independence Day.
The least popular holidays are the Day of Defenders of Ukraine (10%), International Workers’ Day (7%), and Constitution Day (5%).
While Pascha and Nativity are the most popular holidays in Ukraine, interestingly Pentecost dropped from 34% to 29% from 2016 to 2017.
Overall, Ukrainian women responded with respect towards religious holidays than men, with 82% expressing love and respect for Nativity, as compared to 77% of men, and 33% for Pentecost, as compared to 23% of men.
The survey was conducted February 10-19 among adult residents of 110 Ukrainian settlements. There were 2,040 participants in all.
