In Kiev in the days of Eurovision there cannot be "just a rainbow", – expert
"I, as an expert on heraldry and the history of symbols, could tell you at length about the fact that the swastika is one of the oldest signs of the sun, infinity and all the best, but I understand what connotation the Nazis gave it forever. In Kiev, in Khreshchatyk in the days of Eurovision, there cannot be "just a rainbow", wrote Voloshin.
It is a pity that certain European comrades, who generally consider the contest to be almost one of the main platforms for promoting their rights, steadily vulgarized this symbol. You can deceive yourself as much as you like, but they will take it exactly like that," the expert concluded.
To the Eurovision, the Arch of Peoples’ Friendship was "dressed" in the colors of the rainbow. Users of social networks noted that this coloring resembles the colors of the LGBT flag.
The Arch of Peoples’ Friendship is a landmark of Kiev, located in Kreshchaty Park on the right bank of the Dnieper. The opening of the monument took place in 1982.
Kiev will host Eurovision-2017. The final of the contest is scheduled for May 13, the semifinals will be held on May 9 and 11.
