300 thousand believers demand that MPs revoke voting on antichurch bills
Ukrainians urge to stop this legislative arbitrariness and finish with the discrimination both the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and other religious organizations in Ukraine.
Earlier Archbishops of Odessa, Zaporozhe, Kirovograd, Voznesensk, Tulchin and other eparchies of the UOC called on the parish to collect signatures against the adoption of the bills and to take on a feat of fasting and praying.
The adoption of draft laws ##4128 and 4511 which run counter to the norms of the Constitution and international law in the sphere of ensuring freedom of faith is scheduled for 18 May 2017.
On the eve there will be organized prayerful protest actions – on April 17 at 5 p.m. upon blessing of Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhe and Melitopol on the Festival Square, whereas on May 18 at 9 a.m. representatives of parishes and monasteries from different UOC eparchies intend to get together at the building of the Ukrainian Parliament.
