More than 100 thousand people venerate relics of Nicholas the Wonderworker in Moscow (VIDEO)
According to statistics published on the website dedicated to bringing the relics of Nicholas the Wonderworker to Russia, 26600 people came to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour on May 26, and for almost six days, from May 21 to 26 inclusive, almost 120 thousand people visited the shrine.
Earlier the All-Russian Centre for the Study of Public Opinion published the results of a poll, according to which 72% of Russians would like to venerate the relics of St. Nicholas.
The agreement on bringing of the relics from Italy was the result of the historic meeting of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia with the Pope of Rome held on February 12, 2016. This is a unique event, because for all 930 years of the relics' stay in Bari they have never left the city.
Until July 12, the relics will be available to pilgrims in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, from July 13 to July 28, they will be in St. Petersburg.
