Dialogue between Church and youth is especially relevant today, - Primate of UOC’s Message

Dialogue between the Church and the youth, carried out with the active participation of the clergy, is now particularly relevant. This was written by the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Onufry in his greeting message to the organizers and participants of the XII All-Ukrainian Conference of Heads and Representatives of Diocesan Departments for Youth Affairs, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

"We must speak with young people freely and openly on any issues of concern, in order to jointly revive and strengthen our spiritual and moral principles in our youth. I urge you above all to be a worthy example in everything, for living images of personal piety are more convincing than any instruction.

Congratulating on the opening of the conference, I want to thank all of you who are struggling in this important spiritual field. Prayerfully, I wish generous help from the Lord in fulfilling the call of the apostle Paul to raise children "in the teaching and instruction of the Lord." However, we will also remember the apostolic warning: "Fathers, do not irritate your children so that they do not become discouraged," the message says.
