Head of Ministry of Culture assures Phanar exarchs of his full support
The Minister of Culture of Ukraine Yevgeny Nischuk met with the Exarchs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Archbishop Daniel of Pamphilon (UOC of USA) and Bishop of Hilarion of Edmonton (UOC of Canada)
The head of the Ministry assured the representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople of his full support at a meeting with the Exarchs, wrote Archbishop Daniel (Zelinsky) on his Facebook page.
In his welcoming remarks, Minister Nischuk stated that “…presently, we live in historical times of Ukraine, and as Minister of Culture I will do whatever is possible, in my capacity, to facilitate the steps that will lead to a full unification of the Church… at our Ministry, we are responsible for the proper registration of by-laws and statutes in order to make sure that inter-church life of the nation is properly cared for”.
“You can fully rely on our cooperation,” added the Minister of Culture.
As the UOJ reported, earlier at a meeting with the exarchs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Archbishop of Pamphilon Daniel from the USA and Bishop of Edmonton Hilarion from Canada, which took place on October 5 in Kiev, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Paruby addressed them with a request to give the invitation to Patriarch Bartholomew to come to Ukraine. The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament believes that this visit will be very symbolic.
