ROC Primate: Patriarch Bartholomew lays claim to universal power
Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew
“The Patriarch of Constantinople claims the universal power alien to an Orthodox bishop,” the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia said at a fraternal meal in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
“Let us hope that, by the grace of God, the Ecumenical Orthodox Church will get through the present temptations,” the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church reports the Primate’s words.
Patriarch Kirill expressed support for the episcopate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who firmly stands for the protection of the truth despite all the temptations.
On October 10, the Synod in Istanbul may consider the Ukrainian issue after the report of the exarchs, who were dispatched by the Phanar to Ukraine to prepare the ground for the Tomos on autocephaly.
