Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy refused entry into Ukraine

Archbishop Ambrose of Vereya, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy

Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy Archbishop Ambrose of Vereya was refused entry into Ukraine, reports Vladimir Legoyda, Chairman of the Synodal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church for Church Relations with Society and Mass Media on his Telegram channel on November 7.

“Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy Archbishop Ambrose was refused entry into Ukraine at the passport control today in Kiev. Vladyka arrived for the assembly day of the Kiev Theological Academy, which will now pass without him. Waiting for details,” wrote Legoyda.

Archbishop Ambrose of Vereya was appointed by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church of July 14, 2018 (magazine No. 48) as Rector of Moscow theological schools, removing him from the post of the Rector of St. Petersburg theological schools.

The assembly day at the KDAiS is traditionally celebrated on November 9, the Day of St. Nestor the Chronicler.
