UOC invites believers to festivities in honor of Baptism of Rus

On July 27 and 28, 2019, on the occasion of the Day of the Baptism of Rus and the memory of the holy Prince Vladimir, solemn divine services will take place on St. Vladimir Hill and a religious procession with miraculous icons and the relics of saints, the UOC Information and Education Department informs.

On July 27, a festive prayer service will be held on Vladimir Hill, which will be led by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine.

A prayer service on St. Vladimir Hill will begin at 13:00. At the end of the prayer service, a ceremonial Great Procession from St. Vladimir Hill to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra will take place.

On July 28, at 9:00, festive Divine Liturgy will take place on the square in front of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The Liturgy will be led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry in con-celebration with the assembly of bishops.

Those who cannot attend the festivities at this time can watch a live broadcast on Inter TV channel. On July 27, a live broadcast on Inter channel will begin at 13.00.

Recall that in 2018, 250 thousand believers took part in Kiev-held festivities on the occasion of the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Kievan Rus by St. Prince Vladimir.
