Students of Kiev Orthodox Theological Academy of the OCU are asked to sign letters in support of Andrei Yurash, who with the help of the public is trying to prove that he is the best candidate for the post of head of the State Service for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience. This was announced on his Facebook page by Orthodox blogger and publicist Alexander Voznesensky.

“I’ve got the screenshots from the internal chat of the Theological Academy of the OCU, where the press officer of the OCU and teacher of the OCU Academy Mikhail Omelian tells the students that they should write letters in support of Yurash. Moreover, Omelian reports that his actions are authorized by the rector of the Academy,” wrote Voznesensky.

“With the blessing of the rector, I am sending you information with a request of support. Thank you in advance,” Omelian addressed the students, explaining that they need not just to put a like but also write a letter in support of Andrei Yurash.

Recall that on November 21, 2019 in Kiev, the final stage of the competition for the post of head of the State Service of Ukraine on Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience took place, at which none of the candidates admitted to it was able to pass.

On November 24, Andrei Yurash, candidate for the post of Chairman of the State Service for Ethnic Politics and Freedom of Conscience, published a letter of his own support addressed to the leadership of the state, stating that the decision of the competitive commission was biased. Yurash is convinced that his appointment will lead to the "development of Ukraine as a tolerant, multi-dimensional and truly democratic state, free from bureaucratic pressure at all levels."
