Epiphany announces a new wave of "transfers" to OCU

The head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko said that in the near future we should expect a new wave of "transfers" from the UOC to the newly created religious structure, reports the BBC News Ukraine.

In particular, in a conversation with the journalist of the publication, Dumenko said that he knew about the upcoming recognition of the OCU by the Patriarch of Alexandria about a month before the event.

In addition, he is sure that “several local Orthodox churches are next in turn”, however, according to Epiphany, he “would rather not predict because this is an ungrateful matter”.

At the same time, in his opinion, after another two or three Local Churches recognize Ukraine’s newly formed religious structure, “there will be a second big wave of transfers to the OCU”.

At the same time, according to Dumenko, the low numbers of “transfers” from the UOC are dictated by the fact that the OCU seeks to ensure peace in the religious sphere of the country, and “only those parishes that were ready to make an urgent decision on such a transition" shifted to the OCU.

As reported earlier, Dumenko believes that the United States does not exert pressure on the Local Churches in the issue of recognizing the OCU.
