On December 5, 2019, at the general meeting of the clergy of the Vinnitsa Eparchy held in Vinnitsa, the clerics once again testified to their loyalty to the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its Primate His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, reports the press service of the eparchy of the UOC.
Metropolitan Varsonofy (Stoliar) of Vinnitsa and Bar, who chaired the meeting, made a report on general statistics and summed up the difficult year for the eparchy, after which he expressed gratitude to everyone who remained faithful to the Church of Christ and continues to work for the glory of God.
Archpriest Roman Makar, the eparchy’s secretary, told the clergy about the work done and reported on the Church’s plans for the upcoming holidays and 2020 as a whole. Also, the heads of the eparchial departments made reports on the work done since the last session.
As reported by the UOJ, earlier the press secretary of the Vinnitsa Eparchy of the UOC Archpriest Vladimir Puchkov said that Metropolitan Simeon (Shostatsky), who defected for the OCU, provoked a lengthy inter-faith conflict in the region.
We recall that Metropolitan Varsonofy of Vinnitsa and Bar believes that he faces a special task – to help uphold the Truth of Orthodoxy in the region and convey the truth about the Church.
