Metropolitan Emmanuel (Adamakis) of France, who participated in events to mark the anniversary of the "enthronization" of Epiphany Dumenko, said that the OCU is a gift to the people of Ukraine from the Patriarchate of Constantinople, reports the Greek outlet "Orthodoxia.info".
Addressing Epiphany Dumenko, Metropolitan Emmanuel sent him “the warmest congratulations” from the Phanar’s head, Patriarch Bartholomew, and “maternal affection of the Great Church of Constantinople”.
Metropolitan Emmanuel also emphasized that the representatives of the Phanar warmly greet the OCU members, who are even prayed for in heaven: “We are by your side! You are not alone, dear brothers of Ukraine! You have people who pray for you both in Heaven and on earth! You have a loving Primate and the Hierarch brothers who greet you affectionately!”
According to him, “the Church of Ukraine is our present (literally présent – Ed.) to you!” “so that this blessed people can live in fidelity to their language, traditions and customs, live a miracle called the Orthodox Church!”.
Metropolitan Emmanuel of France also noted that “you are free to live as Ukrainians, in memory of the past generations who fought for this freedom!”
As reported earlier, a Greek lawyer proposed to give the western part of Ukraine to the Phanar.
