Zelensky calls on heads of Churches "to be understanding" about quarantine

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky

On March 16, 2020, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called on the heads of churches "to be understanding" about the quarantine in connection with the coronavirus epidemic.

"I urge the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine <...> to ban mass events with the participation of more than 10 people, including rites and ceremonies. I ask leaders of all Churches to understand this situation when there is a threat to human health and life," the President said in a video message, which was published on his Telegram channel.

He also promised to inform people as often as possible about the response to the new pandemic. According to the President, 5 cases of coronavirus have already been registered in Ukraine.

Earlier, Zelensky noted that the most terrible virus is the hate virus, not the coronavirus.
