Uniates suggest switching to the Julian calendar. Thus, UGCC priest Justin (Yuri) Boiko wrote on his Facebook page that "if the clergymen do not authorize it, then the faithful will do it for them."
"Circumstances require a clear response for the good of human souls and the people," Boiko added.
In comments on the post, he was supported by many fellow ministers and UGCC believers. One of the priests, Vasyl Hasynets, said that in his parish the Nativity Fast has already begun, St. Nicholas Day will be celebrated on December 6, and Christmas – on December 25.
User Ihor Chornyi, in his comment, addressed Sviatoslav Shevchuk directly: "Your Eminence, maybe you will take up a calendar reform? Our inept Orthodox brothers have created anarchism in relation to the celebration of Christmas, maybe at least in our Church there will be order?" asks Chornyi.
As reported, the OCU "synod" authorized rectors to independently decide on the Christmas date. Some parishes said they would celebrate Christmas twice.
