Metropolitan Gennadios (Zervos) of Italy of the Constantinople Patriarchate said that God through the Eucharist will protect and save us from the coronavirus, reports the “Orthodox Times”.

A message to the faithful was sent by Metropolitan Gennadios of Italy, stating that “we are facing a terrible evil, which afflicts and kills our brothers and sisters, causing an illness without treatment, so that it is considered an invisible war that spreads fear and death”.

As he emphasized, “we Orthodox have a powerful spiritual weapon that gives us Hope, Faith and Love, which leads us to Prayer, Eucharist, Communion with our God, Who protects us and will save us from coronavirus. God does not abandon us and is the only hope for our salvation.”

Metropolitan Gennadios urges the faithful not to fear, not to think about death. “Think about God and pray to God. The evil will pass. God follows us and guards us with his full of love and peace, Divine Cloak!

We should do what the authorities indicate and collaborate with them to help them with our conduct. This will help our Orthodox brothers and sisters, young and old alike.”

“Always remember that you are not alone; there is God, the Divine Love, the Charity of God! Therefore, we must delete the word ‘fear’ from our souls; soon we will have the Resurrection! Soon we will have real life! Soon we will have the victory over death,” resumed Metropolitan Gemnnadios.
