UOC Primate donates COVID-19 control equipment to Kiev hospital

On March 30, 2020, the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, handed over an artificial respiration apparatus and personal protective equipment for medical workers of the Alexander City Clinical Hospital in Kyiv, reports the UOC Information and Education Department.
This equipment necessary for the fight against COVID-19 was donated to the Church by MP Vadim Novinsky’s International Charity Fund.
Honoured Doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences Olga Golubovskaya, Head of the Infectious Diseases Department (Chair) of of the A. A. Bogomolets National Medical University, Head of the Infectious Diseases Department Lyudmila Menova and Head of the Resuscitation Department Alexey Kutsenko arrived at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to meet with the Primate.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry told doctors about the attitude of the UOC to the situation around the coronavirus and the sacrificial service of clergy and medical personnel in quarantine. He wished all the doctors God’s help in their ministry and blessed them.
Golubovskaya thanked the Primate for a valuable gift and spoke about the state of affairs in the hospitals of the city and about the forms of COVID-19.
Earlier, the Primate of the UOC addressed believers in connection with the coronavirus and urged them to be patient. He also said that temples would remain open during quarantine and explained to sick people how they could pray at home.
