The Synodal Department of the UOC for Social and Humanitarian Affairs has collected more than UAH 88,000 for physicians fighting with the coronavirus. This was reported on the Department’s Facebook page.

The amount of UAH 66,529 was spent to buy 100 protective suits, 100 liters of disinfectant solution, 2,000 nitrile gloves, paper towels, garbage bags. We also purchased tools for the manufacture of another 130 liters of disinfectant solution – 100 liters of alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and glycerin.

In addition, gauze and spunbond fabric was bought to sew medical masks.

“We are waiting for a reply to the order of tailoring protective suits, goggles, respirators and medicines. The main problem here is the deficit caused and a subsequent increase in cost,” the Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Affairs noted. “But with God's help, there are people who empathize with us and offer their goods and services at an affordable price.”

It was decided to transfer all the protective equipment and supplies to the Kiev City Clinical Hospital No. 4.

“Dear friends, we sincerely thank you for your participation in helping health workers,” the members of the Synodal Department turned to everyone who had supported their fund-raising initiative to help physicians.

Earlier, the UOC announced fundraising in order to assist health care workers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
