The winner of the Miss Ukraine Universe contest Viktoria Apanasenko from Chernihiv will represent Ukraine in a symbolic outfit called "Warrior of Light", which was created for her by Ukrainian designer Lesya Patoka.

Viktoria Apanasenko announced this on her Instagram page.

Viktoria Apanasenko will take the stage of the international beauty contest Miss Universe 2022 in the image of the Archangel Michael.

The show is slated for January 11, 2023 in New Orleans.

According to the designer, the costume symbolizes the struggle of Ukrainians with darkness and protects like Archangel Michael, who defends Ukraine with a sword.

Because of the war, the organizing committee of the Miss Ukraine Universe contest chose the winner without a traditional festive show, paying special attention to the participants' activities in combat conditions.

When choosing Viktoria Apanasenko, her active volunteer work was taken into account.

As the UOJ previously reported, in the United States, a transgender won a women's beauty contest.
