On April 14, 2020, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky once again urged Ukrainians to stay home for Easter, because “nationality, gender or religion are not important for the coronavirus”. A video of the President’s address to the people was published on the Facebook page of the President’s Office.

Zelensky is sure that late April will be a key period, and therefore it is important for every Ukrainian to meet the Resurrection of Christ at home. According to the President, in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, "almost 100 cases of coronavirus have already been confirmed".

“We wish all the sick a quick recovery. But this whole situation demonstrates that your nationality, gender or belief are not important for the coronavirus. Demonstrates that you can’t take the disease carelessly,” said Vladimir Zelensky.

He cited the data of sociological polls, according to which almost 90% of Ukrainians plan to celebrate Easter at home.
"Each of us understands that this year we will have to change traditions. And doing it for the sake of our own safety is the maturity and wisdom of the nation. Further quarantine terms will depend on our behaviour at Easter and our discipline. Let's try together for a common goal and celebrate Easter at home,” he called on the people and said that it goes not only “about traditional baskets” but also about picnics and visits.

Earlier, the President said that “crowds at Easter” in churches are a direct path to the disease.
