On April 21, 2020, the National Police Department in the Ternopil Region said that the decision of the district commission of the Kremenets District State Administration to block the entry and exit of Pochayiv city (Ternopil region) because of the coronavirus was adopted in violation of the law. It is reported by Babel.
The ministry said that local authorities have no legal authority to place the city under increased quarantine. “The commission’s meeting was held without lawyers. There is no martial law in the country, therefore such a decision is illegal. The police will operate in a normal mode,” the press service of the Department explained.
Now the commission is holding a second meeting, after which it will take a new decision on quarantine measures. At the moment, there are three police posts in Pochayiv and on its borders.
As reported by the UOJ, earlier local authorities banned entry and exit in Pochayiv because of the coronavirus.
