On January 19, 2023, Serhiy Dumenko, at a “worship service” in the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, promised to work on the “renovation” of this shrine. He announced this on his Facebook page.

The head of the OCU boasted that he had “served” in the Assumption Cathedral for the second time and saw in this “a sign of spiritual consolation, God’s favor and inspiration for further work to renovate this shrine.” Dumenko hopes that “the Lord, under the patronage of His Most Holy Theotokos, through the prayers of our Fathers Anthony and Theodosius and all the saints of the Caves, will bless our work with success.”

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that people were brought to the “worship” of the OCU in the Assumption Cathedral from the regions by buses.
