Expert: Rally in support of Euromaidan in Europe was organized by UGCC

The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church organized political rallies in support of Euromaidan, said blogger Alexander Voznesensky. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“Starting from the end of November 2013, a lot of demonstrations in support of the Maidan began right at the exit from the doors of the Uniate church. As you can see, political posters were placed on the walls at the entrance, and visitors were addressed directly from the entrance to the temple,” the blogger explains.

He reiterated that the campaign had been launched before the “Berkut” special police units broke up the protest rally on Independence Square on November 30, 2013.

“This began before the break-up on November 30, and therefore the clergy could not justify that this action was caused by outrage over the use of force on the Maidan in Kyiv. It was a purely political move by the clergy of the UGCC, aimed at organizing a coup in Ukraine,” writes Voznesensky.

“Does the Uniate Church speak of God and stay away from politics?” It’s ridiculous. A coup d'etat is one of the grievous crimes against the state, and that is exactly what the UGCC did in 2013,” the blogger summarizes.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the Primate of the UGCC, called the Heavenly Hundred a standard of love for neighbor.
