The Head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, sent to Filia Zhebrovskaya, the Chairman of Zhebrovsky Family Charitable Foundation Board and the Head of the Supervisory Board of the well-known Ukrainian pharmaceutical company Farmak, a request “to provide charitable assistance due to the need for the organization to carry out its statutory activities.” The corresponding letter, signed by Epiphany on May 13, 2020, was published by the Churcher Telegram channel.

“His Beatitude is thinking about who feels most comfortable in the market and is more willing to make a donation at a particular point in time,” the Telegram channel said. "It is quite logical that the stake is now made on pharmacists: who can earn money now if not they – if not in retail business (because the solvency of the population has fallen), then at the level of state orders and investments from oligarchs and large corporations. While all other industries are suffering losses, no one will save on medicine or jeopardize the developers and manufacturers of medicines, medical equipment or protective equipment, etc.”

The Foundation, which Epiphany had asked for money, already allocated UAH 10 million in March to counteract the spread of coronavirus in Ukraine.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier the Greek Orthodox Church appealed to the Greek authorities for compensation due to the coronavirus.
