Oleksandr Skypalsky, the ex-head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the former deputy head of the SBU, in the program “At Gordon’s”, said that the procession with the cross reminds him of a crowd following a meat-packing plant.
“When there is a procession with the cross, it reminds me that a ram provocateur is at the head, followed by a crowd following the meat processing plant. Of course, key positions (in the UOC – Ed.) are occupied by people working for Russia,” Skypalsky said.
The ex-head of the Defense Intelligence added that the UOC prevents Ukraine from building an independent state.
“I am well aware of the historical experience of using religion by the Russian Empire, starting with Peter I. You know that a synod was generally appointed there, and so on. In the future, Yosif Vissarionovich (Stalin – Ed.) with Lavrenty Pavlovich (Beria – Ed.) created that church, which is still here with us to this day in Ukraine, and prevents us from building an independent state, ”explained Skipalsky.
The ex-head believes that in Ukraine "it was necessary to work substantively with the church."
“We have it vice versa. In 1992, who compromised Filaret (Denisenko – Ed.)? A joint operation of the Ukrainian SBU and the Russian FCS (Federal Counterintelligence Service – Ed.). Who did not allow the Lavras to be transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian church? Who, in the end, was the conductor of the Kharkiv Council (at which Filaret was voiced distrust – Ed.)? Was it just like that? I know the head of the service, who in every possible way eroded its significance: that it doesn’t matter, the Kharkiv Council is unimportant ... If it doesn’t matter, then why did they organize it in the interaction with Russia, on top of that. Now the Ukrainian people are paying with their blood for such a short-sighted policy,” he summed up.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the MP called on the SBU to fight the "fifth column in cassocks."
