Archbishop George, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, made a peaceful visit to Phanar, reports fosfanariou.gr.
Archbishop George led a prayer (doxology) at the Patriarchal Cathedral Church of St. George. Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, head of the Orthodox Affairs Committee, prayed beside him. Then there was an official meeting with Patriarch Bartholomew.
As reported, the head of the Cypriot Church had previously said that he would continue the late Archbishop Chrysostomos's policy towards the Phanar. Archbishop George said that during the Christmas liturgy he remembered the head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko.
