MPs from different factions have sent a letter to the head of the SBU, Vasyl Maliuk, urging him to ensure the safety of the relics of the revered Pechersk saints. This was announced by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada, citing the statement of Nikita Poturayev, an MP from the "Servant of the People" party.

Poturayev is confident that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church should return to the state "relics and other valuable and historically significant items".

At the same time, the politician referred to the saints' relics as "museum exhibits": "We have written a letter to the head of the SBU, Vasyl Maliuk, so I am confident that the competent authorities will take care to ensure that nothing is lost from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra".

Earlier, Poturayev stated that law enforcement agencies would facilitate the vacation of the Lavra monastery by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

As reported, the UOC is being expelled from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
