With the blessing of the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, celebrations marking the anniversary of the Christianization of Rus’ and the 400th anniversary of the revival of the Orthodox Church hierarchy in Ukraine will be held in compliance with quarantine requirements. The Chancellery of the Kyiv Metropolis announced this in a circular, which was published on the website of the Voznesensk Eparchy.
Conducting the traditional All-Ukrainian Cross Procession will be replaced by a prayer service with a festive chime in all the churches and monasteries of the UOC.
The service will take place on July 28, the day of the celebration of the anniversary of the Christianization of Rus’.
As reported earlier, Vinnytsia and Chernivtsi-Bukovina Eparchies of the UOC cancelled the traditional religious processions to Kalynivka in the Vinnytsia region and to the Khreshchatyk Monastery in the Chernivtsi region.
