The Tomos is an extremely important geopolitical step for the country, which will still be appreciated by the descendants, said Prime Minister Denis Shmygal in an interview with the BBC.

"The Tomos is one of the geopolitical important steps for Ukraine, it has been made – it is a fact that Ukraine has its Local Church. I think that this is a very important step in geopolitical and historical terms. History and our descendants will appreciate it," Shmygal said.

According to the Prime Minister, many people in Ukraine have already "appreciated this step".

Earlier, Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadovoy also spoke about the document, which the OCU received from the Phanar, and called on members of the City Council "regardless of religion and belief <...> to give a clear position: hands off the Tomos!
