In Ukraine, abortions take 5 times more lives every month than coronavirus, the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Eparchy recalled on Facebook.

“The number of deaths from COVID-19 in Ukraine for the entire quarantine period (approximately 4 months) is 1159 (as of June 30, 2020). The number of abortions, according to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, amounted to almost 75 thousand in 2019," the diocese said. “It turns out that every month Ukrainian health workers kill an average of about 6,250 children in their mother’s womb, which is 5 times as much as the incidence of deaths from COVID-19.”

The Chernivtsi-Bukovina Eparchy also recalled that babies who are killed in the womb suffer during an abortion more than those who are sick with COVID-19 and suffocate from the lack of air. Yet, all these dead children are also Ukrainians.

“We ask everyone: make it clear to all your friends that abortion is not just a medical procedure but the killing of a living person who has a soul. Perhaps your awareness-raising will save the life of another little Ukrainian,” the diocese called on the flock and recalled that, according to official figures, Ukraine had lost more than 30 million of its citizens due to abortion over the years of independence.

Earlier the UOJ reported that during the coronavirus epidemic more than 10 million abortions were made across the world.
