On 29 March 2023, head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Epifaniy Dymenko appointed Archimandrite Abramius (Lotysh), a monk of the Holy Dormition Kyiv Caves Lavra, as the "acting abbot" of the Lavra, reports the official website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Archimandrite Abramius (Lotysh), who was previously a member of the Spiritual Council of Kyiv's Lavra, appealed to Dumenko as "priest-archimandrite" of the monastery to appoint him among the "brethren" of the monastery but already under the aegis of the OCU.
Dumenko granted his request and appointed Abramius "to perform duties of the abbot of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra as part of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine".
As earlier reported, Metropolitan Clement said there is no court decision on the UOC's eviction from the Lavra.
