On March 31, 2023, Metropolitan Andrei of Gori and Aten stated that the Local Churches should find a solution to the UOC issue.
In a letter to Metropolitan Luka of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol, Metropolitan Andrei wrote that the war in Ukraine today is aggravated by the severity of the trials of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
But, wrote Vladyka, “we believe and hope that soon the Orthodox Churches will collectively find a solution, in accordance with the spirit and canons of the Church of Christ, since the forceful influence exerted on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is not acceptable either according to spiritual or civil laws”.
As reported, Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia addressed the head of the Phanar in connection with the situation around the UOC.
