Archpriest Nikita Chekman, a lawyer for Metropolitan Pavel, said that the prosecution demanded that Vladyka be placed under house arrest at an address that differs from that of the Lavra, the KlymenkoTime telegram channel reports.
“Probably, in this way the SBU hopes to prevent the coordination of measures to uphold the right to use the lower part of the Lavra by believers and monks of the UOC,” the lawyer noted.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the abbot's lawyers were given almost no time to prepare defense materials.
