On April 10, 2023, the Kamyanets-Podilskyi police opened proceedings on an attack by a supporter of the OCU on one of the defenders of the UOC Cathedral. The assailant attacked the man and inflicted facial injuries on him.
Law enforcement officers accepted the statement and recorded bodily injuries. Later, UOJ sources in the police reported that the attacker had previously been prosecuted under Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Commission of indecent acts against a person under the age of sixteen” (pedophilia).
Earlier, an aggressive supporter of the OCU, using obscene language, demanded that the defenders of the cathedral disperse, and when he was refused, he tried to break through to the temple and clutched at one of the parishioner’s face. The man has deep scratches. Fortunately, his eyes remained intact.
Recall that the parishioners of the UOC Cathedral in Kamyanets-Podilskyi have been defending their shrine from attempts to seize it for three days. On April 8, the mayor of the city reported on the “transition” of the temple to the OCU after an illegal vote held by the crowd that besieged the temple.
