The commission of the Ministry of Culture for the acceptance and transfer of property of the Kyiv Caves Lavra reported on the inspection of Building 112. This was announced on the telegram channel by the Minister of Culture Alexander Tkachenko.

Tkachenko said that "the MCIP commission recorded the emergency condition of the premises, unsuitable for operation and with obvious signs of destruction."

Based on the results of the survey, employees of the Ministry of Culture compiled a statement “on a crime under Art. 298 of the Criminal Code ‘Illegal prospecting at an object of archaeological heritage, destruction, breakdown or damage to objects of cultural heritage’".

Tkachenko stated that “for more than 100 years, Building No. 112 has been an integral element of the spatial composition of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a model of public architecture in the classicist style, the project of which was made by the famous architect P. I. Sparro. It took the UOC-MP only a few dozen years to turn the premises into what you see in the photo.”

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that there was a fire in Building 112 in 2019.
